Part Time Library Assistant, Circulation
Manhattan Public Library is seeking a customer-focused person to work evenings and weekends in the Circulation Department. Library assistants help customers check library materials in and out, answer questions concerning borrowing library materials, and sort and shelve materials. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages, races, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and socioeconomic statuses.
Desired qualifications include a high school degree or equivalent and one year of customer service experience. Library experience and some college or equivalent education are beneficial. This is an 18-hour-per-week position and pays $15.45/hour.

Public Relations Graphic Design Assistant
The Public Relations Graphic Design Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Public Relations and Outreach Manager by creating visually compelling materials that promote library services and events. This position requires a strong design background, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet deadlines.
Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills and creativity, excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Experience in library or non-profit marketing, knowledge of web design principles, familiarity with video editing software is desired.
This is a 20 hour per week position; $15.45/hour plus paid time off, KPERS retirement, and EAP. Hours are primarily during between 8 and 5 M-F, some weekend and evenings may be required for library programs and events.
