Part Time Safety and Security Specialists
The Manhattan Public Library is looking for two part time Safety & Security Specialists who are passionate about keeping our library safe, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone. The Safety and Security Specialists will monitor library facilities, enforce policies, prevent disturbances or theft, and promote compliance with safety and emergency procedures. They will ensure internal security systems are functional, and deliver safety and security training to staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in security, safety, or law enforcement.
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in security management or related field preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, de-escalation skills, and problem-solving skills.
The starting salary is $39,158.12/year plus excellent benefits. The schedules are based on the needs of the library which include days, evenings, and weekends.

Acquisitions and Finishing Assistant
Manhattan Public Library is looking for a dedicated team member to help with acquisitions and finishing materials. The person in this position will support the library’s mission of serving a diverse community by assisting the catalogers with brief entries on Polaris, receiving and verifying shipments, finishing and processing items and other duties as assigned.
