Custodian
We are looking for a responsible and self-directed person to help make the library a welcoming place. Responsibilities include: Cleaning public and office areas, maintaining outdoor grounds, and assisting with building security. Must be able to work independently. Other requirements include the ability to bend, stoop, and move up to 50 pounds, use commercial cleaning equipment, follow directions, and perform other maintenance tasks. This is a benefits-eligible position including health insurance, paid time off, and KPERS retirement. $14.42/hour; 30 hours per week, the schedule will be every weekend and three weekday afternoons.

Part Time Library Assistant, Circulation

Manhattan Public Library is seeking a customer-focused person to work in the Circulation Department. Library assistants help customers check library materials in and out, answer questions concerning borrowing library materials, and sort and shelve materials. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages, races, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and socioeconomic statuses.

Desired qualifications include a high school degree or equivalent and one year of customer service experience. Library experience and some college or equivalent education are beneficial. This is an 18-hour-per-week position and pays $15.45/hour. The schedule will include up to three nights during the week and at least every other weekend.
