Manhattan Public Library is seeking a Learning and Information Services Librarian who is dedicated to enriching our library and community.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service to all ages
  • Coordinating Readers Advisory services
  • Delivering library materials to the homebound, maintaining a community database and information display, taking primary responsibility for library security and building in the absence of administration.

Manhattan Public Library is an innovative and customer-centered organization with a collaborative atmosphere, so the ability to communicate well and work with a team is a must. Requires a dedication to serving customers, a strong understanding of library ethics, technology skills, and the ability to provide instructions.

Requires the completion of 50% of the course credits required for a Masters of Library Science Degree. Completion of Masters of Library Science Degree is preferred. Requires one-year customer service experience. One year of public library experience is preferred. This is a 40 hour/week position. The schedule includes days, at least one evening shift per week and at least one weekend per month. The salary is $43,259.70/year and includes a generous benefits package.
