Programing Librarian
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to prepare and deliver engaging programs for kids, teens, and adults, with a focus on teens ages 11-17, and assist with outreach events that connect the library with the community. Must be able to provide outstanding library customer service and assist customers using the library and its resources at public service desks. Requires a high school or equivalent degree, and preferred one year of experience with public speaking and event planning, and one year library experience. Additional college or library training preferred. The schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends, 25 hours per week. $16.82/hour, paid leave, and KPERS retirement benefits. Training Specialist
Manhattan Public Library is accepting applications for a Training Specialist who will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating Information Technology (IT) training programs for new hires, employees transitioning into new roles or assignments, and organization-wide initiatives involving new software, systems, or technology. The Training Specialist will provide support for IT-related projects, ensuring alignment with training objectives and departmental needs.
Desired qualifications include an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, education technology, or related field, two years experience in information technology support or a related field, experience training adults, and library experience. The job is on-site, and the schedule will be 24 hours a week; primarily M-F between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The schedule will vary depending on department needs and will include occasional evening and weekend hours. The wage is $20.22 per hour. Benefits include annual leave, medical leave, personal leave, paid holidays, and KPERS retirement. The position will be open until filled.

Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a friendly team member to assist library management in all aspects of the operation. In addition to maintaining a welcoming and efficient office, the Administrative Assistant must be able to successfully handle a large volume of customer service matters. The work requires a high level of confidentiality, discretion, self-direction, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Duties include:
- Preparing documents, data entry, record keeping, preparing and distributing mail, and scheduling room reservations.
- Supporting the library director with daily communications and record keeping for governing boards and library support groups.
- Providing support for other library managers, volunteer boards, partners and staff members.
- Planning workflow to meet prescribed deadlines and project goals.
- Assisting with inventory, scanning, and preparing weekly bank deposits.
Required education, experience, and skills:
- High school education or equivalent
- Minimum of one year experience in an office environment including a multi-line phone system
- One year customer service experience
- One year working with computer software programs
- Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, writing, proofreading, and editing
Library experience is preferred. Hours are 8-5 Monday-Friday. Salary is $16.82/hour and includes a generous benefits package.
